You are here: Home - Cevennes (E)
The Beau Rivage campsite is located near the Cévennes National Park, classified as a UNESCO national heritage since 2011. This natural site is full of sumptuous landscapes and allows magnificent walks and cultural visits.
The Cevennes are a stone’s throw away. The numerous valleys with the typical Cevenol culture are highly recommended. And along the well-known Corniche des Cévennes route you can enjoy the most beautiful views of the Cevennes. A route from St Jean du Gard to the mountain village of Florac.
The Cevennes are also known for the endless walks you can take there. A fairly well-known one is the long-distance hike from Le Puy-en-Velay to Alès through the central massif over a distance of 250 km. Four departments are crossed here: the Haute-Loire, the Ardèche, the Lozère and the Gard. This walk is in the footsteps of Robert Louis Stevenson who made it in 1878, along with his donkey Modestine.
The Cevennes are also a true paradise for long-distance cyclists. The endless mountain roads and collets are very inviting for making the most beautiful bike rides.
