Our region is full of many and varied activities.
It would be difficult to list them all here, so we will give you an idea thanks to our selection.
Hyking
The area surrounding the campsite is ideal for beautiful walks, both in the immediate vicinity and in the nearby Cevennes. We have set out 4 marked walks that start directly from the campsite. Varied walks that go through the village, the forest or the grape fields.
Cycling
any mountain bike trails, winding roads adapted for road bike are around the campsite. We offer a binder with different routes and detailed maps.
Canoing
We have canoes for rent directly at the campsite, which will allow you to have a good time on the water.
Steam train
Step aboard an authentic steam train and enjoy a unique journey through the beautiful Gardons Valley. During this 13-kilometre ride, you will be treated to breathtaking views and scenic landscapes. The train stops at the famous bamboo gardens, La Bambouseraie, where you can choose to get off and enjoy a visit.
Make sure to visit the locomotive and watch the engineers in action as they refill the water tank and oil the moving parts of this historic steam engine. A wonderful experience for both children and adults!
The train runs several times every day from Anduze to St Jean du Gard and back. It is really enjoy and admire. You can also get off at the impressive bamboo forest and take a walk through it, and then continue to the beautiful mountain village of St Jean de Gard. All in all highly recommended! Bamboo forest
The bamboo forest near Anduze is the largest in Europe. This fantastic garden immediately transports us in an exotic environment of up to 12 hectares. Many types of bamboo can be admired, but not only that …
There are also many trees to admire that are notable for their size and longevity, such as redwoods, gingkos bilobas, cryptomerias, tulip trees, magnolias and camellias.
The beautiful Landscaping shows you different universes like with the water garden, the bamboo forest, the palm tree alley of China, the Japanese garden, the labyrinth, the garden of the Eugene basins or the Mazel greenhouses. This beautiful and grand garden is well worth a visit!
Climbing in trees
In the area, there are several adventure tree climbing parks. Children (from 4 years old) and adults can enjoy hours of fun jumping, swinging, climbing, zip-lining and pretending to be Tarzan high up in the trees. A perfect activity for families and adventure lovers!
Everyone can really let loose here and enjoy unforgettable moments. The nearest climbing park is just 6 km from the campsite and is well worth a visit. Of course, you will find all the necessary information at the campsite reception.
Markets and little flea markets
There are many charming tourist villages nearby, such as Anduze, Vézénobres, Lasalle, Sauve, Sommières and Uzès, each with its own weekly market to explore. Here you will find local products like olives, Pélardon goat cheese and aromatic herbs, just to name a few regional specialities.
The region is also famous for its many pottery workshops. One of the best known is La Poterie de la Madeleine, located just 5 minutes from the campsite. In addition, you will find plenty of flea markets and traditional vide greniers (attic sales), where you can often discover the most unusual and charming objects.
Swimming and relaxing
Whether you prefer swimming in a river or relaxing on the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea, our region offers plenty of opportunities for water fun and relaxation. Besides the river that runs alongside the campsite, there are many other rivers to explore, often with beautiful waterfalls where you can enjoy a refreshing day close to nature.
The Mediterranean Sea is just a one-hour drive from the campsite, making it easy to plan a perfect day at the beach with sun, sea and sand.
Golf
Just across the river, you will find a lovely golf course. With its 9 holes it may be small, but it is beautifully located, close by, and perfect for a casual round or for trying golf for the very first time.
For those looking for larger courses, there are several excellent golf courses in the region, including a beautiful one in Uzès and an impressive 18-hole course in Nîmes.
